Origin
Sea lettuce is found in all seas. It grows on stony ground, mussels or other types of algae.

The leaves are appetisingly bright green, you can easily recognise this alga in the sea and try it fresh. Sea lettuce has crunchy leaves that grow to about the size of a hand.
Production
In Europe, sea lettuce is harvested by hand; for Japanese ao nori, it is grown on ropes.
